[ The rest of his shower is finished in extremely embarrassed silence once Thoma adjusts the temperature to something more suiting to his preferences. For his part, he doesn't linger very long in the droning sound of falling water, lost in his thoughts; his long-trained servitude mindset is screaming at him not to leave a guest unattended to for too long and so it's just so much easier to listen to that part of his brain than any other that teases him with dirty thoughts or unsure hopes. ]

[ It's just a quick and thorough hot shower and he's out, still drying his hair with a towel when he reenters the kitchen to check on Ayato. He's radiating heat, moreso than usual from the shower, and in spite of well, everything, his smile has its usual life and energy to it. ]

mostly out of surprise at himself for the way his mind decides to skip the idea of tea or pastries and sinks into the thought of more of thoma.

years of lying thankfully keep saving him today as he smiles back, thoughts squashed successfully. they can haunt him later when he's on his own. }

No, thank you. I wasn't all that thirsty. { he's going to need more time to get used to this apparently, even as he finishes the last of the pastry he'd been picking at while thoma was in the shower, licking his fingers clean after.

[ Thoma's eyes linger Ayato's slender fingers and the way his tongue brushes over them for a beat too long before he catches himself, head and attention turning toward the teapot instead to pour himself a cup. He was exceedingly parched at this point, but tea would help calm his thoughts more. ]

[ Hopefully getting distracted by Ayato's almost every action wouldn't become a common thing for him. ]

[ It was like he was a teenager all over again, except this time he had personal experience instead of an active imagination. ]

{ it wasn't even intentional, but he realises he may have to be more careful about his own actions when thoma definitely takes a little too long watching him.

[ Thoma's mind goes in much the same direction, though he's more of the thought that he's not sure he could mentally handle delivering Ayato's laundry on his birthday... ]

[ He also doesn't mention how Ayaka had told Thoma about wanting to get a full day with Ayato, meals included, so Thoma didn't plan to give the gift until later in the day. Much later, depending on how much time he personally needed to recover mentally from their earlier activities. ]

[ Hopefully the gift he'd used that bone(r) for in the first place arrives tomorrow just as it'd been advertised and not late. ]

but as it stands, he just keeps sipping at his tea, trying to ignore how the air is slowly going back to feeling more awkward.

the only good point of all of this is that he left a note, neither of them texted ayaka, as long as he gets back soon she'll likely never know there was anything wrong to begin with. they won't get more awkward questions to answer.

he clears his throat and places the now empty cup down. }

I should probably get back to working on the proposal I'm planning for the government here. But... thank you for the tea and pastry. You should probably ensure you eat something as well.

{ he smiles as he moves to stand, if only because it's much harder to grimace if that smile is on his face already and he is doing everything in his power to not make things even more awkward than they already are. }

[ Surely Ayato wouldn't fret about not seeing Thoma for half a day when his sister has taken all of his attention!! ]

[ He nearly starts to ask about the proposal in curiosity- of course Ayato is already getting himself involved in those sorts of matters, just how far had he dug himself in already? But at the same time, he doesn't want to keep Ayato from his work. Yielding to the work has long been a habit ingrained into Thoma's psyche, especially when coming from either Ayato or Ayaka. If a Kamisato clan member said they had something to do or somewhere to be, one needed to respect and honor that no matter what. ]

[ It hasn't fully settled in that he didn't need to think this way here. ]

[ He's immediately moving to get up again, intent on escorting Ayato out the door as a proper host should when a thought quite suddenly strikes his mind. ]

[ Before Ayato can give any objection, he's already scurrying back to his room. ]

and honestly he's so used to barely giving anything away about work that it doesn't occur to him this is the first thoma is hearing of it. ayaka knew a little of it as she'd helped prepare his notes the other week.

honestly he isn't even sure how thoma is still running around like he has all the energy in the world. he really may go back and nap before he starts drafting up anything else. as much as the distraction would be nice, he's not necessarily in a rush to get it done.

but now all he can do is wait as thoma runs off to his room again. }

[ It will absolutely get worse though when Thoma returns from his room, red-faced as he offers a small tube to the other man. He'd meant to give it to him earlier, but he'd been understandably dazed but he didn't want Ayato to leave without... ]

It's lotion. For- ah... it's got really good cooling and healing properties so please, use as much as you need! I can buy more.

ayato may have years of practice of keeping his expressions collected, only showing what he wants other people to see, but this is an entirely new situation that even he can't stop his face from flushing slightly as his hand reaches out for the tube, taking it in his hand and holding it there. }

Ah... thank you, Thoma. { and now he can't look him in the eye. had it been that obvious when he'd moved to stand earlier? }

[ Ayato mentioned his discomfort once and Thoma never forgot, there's no way he could have sent Ayato off without something to help his... situation. Nevermind that Thoma was also thinking that he should be the one to help apply it, given his role in causing it, and the thought of that gets him all flustered again. ]

Of course, I hope you... I hope you are more comfortable with some rest.
