{ there is the occasional typo, but to be fair it's very easily done on these devices. ayato has had to learn to be patient and go back and fix words all the time by now. thankfully messaging ayaka constantly near the start helped, but it will never be perfect.

it isn't even the typo that is concerning, it's the fact that thoma is potentially sick and that is a rarity in itself. he doesn't want him to be sick on his birthday tomorrow, though that is a little selfish to think about, it wouldn't be the same without him there.

whatever plans he had for the morning he had are promptly cancelled, and even if thoma isn't asking for help he will actually step out to get him soup from a local café in the hope he'll feel better soon.

it doesn't take more than twenty or so minutes before he's letting himself into thoma and rui's apartment next door with the key the kamisatos had been left with. he'll lock it behind himself, just because he isn't sure how long he'll be over and he doesn't want rui to worry either.

that done, he moves to knock gently on thoma's door once he's inside, cardboard tray with a take away cup of soup in hand. }

Thoma? { he tries to make his voice loud enough to be heard through the door, but it has a softness to it, not wanting to startle him. besides, the concern is likely evident in his voice. } I'm letting myself in.

{ because he may be asleep or not well enough to answer, he doesn't wait for an answer before opening the door. }

[ At some point in the day, Ayato will noticed a neatly wrapped package by the doorstep of the Kamisato residence addressed directly to him. Inside, it's contents contain several homemade macaroons of various flavors and unique designs, still warm inside the box. He's welcome to eat it with his boba tea or use it as hot pot ingredients, the world is his oyster.

Let's just say she has a way with words that make you wonder if you will be cursed after speaking to her, especially if you get on her bad side.

[ The good news, Thoma is still alive. ]

[ The concerning news, he only barely seems to react to Ayato's voice. His face is flushed, far more than it should be, and there's a haze in his eyes that seems too strong for someone who who might have just caught a cold. The blankets are a mess on the bed, only just covering his hips down, and while he might be wearing his usual black shirt, a quick glance can tell Ayato that's the only thing he's wearing right now. ]

[ A look around the room reveals the answer if one knows what to look for. Next to the bed guiltily sit a snapped wishing bone(r) and the remnants of the wishing dandelion. ]

[ The ??? news, he's also very much in the middle of something, one hand disappearing under the sheet across his waist and only stops when he turns his head in Ayato's direction. ]

Ayato...

[ Whether he sighs out Ayato's name because the man entered the room or for Other Reasons is unclear. ]

{ thankfully ayato has years of being able to hide reactions to surprising incidents with ease, otherwise hot soup may have ended up all over the floor. whatever he'd expected after receiving a message that morning, this was not it.

sure, there are pieces of evidence in the room that may elude to how thoma came to be in this state, but it's incredibly difficult to look away from the sight that greets him as he steps inside. he blindly shuts the door behind himself, fingers reaching for a lock to twist.

perhaps, if he were a nicer person, he may have left and apologised for walking in on this moment.

perhaps, if he were more thoughtful on how this may change things going forward, he wouldn't have given himself a moment to drink in the sight and sounds thoma makes on his bed. his throat feels awfully dry, a thought he doesn't let himself linger on yet, as his eyes slide down over from thoma's face to where his hand disappears under the covers. }

My goodness, { despite how much he tries, it's hard to stop the breathiness that leaks into his voice as he speaks. after giving himself what feels like forever, but is likely only a minute or so, he'll move closer. it's close enough that he can place the soup aside (and it's a small miracle he manages to put it down without breaking eye contact) and now he's closer he can see the extent how badly flushed he is, his hand reaching out to hold thoma's face in place by gently holding his chin. } were you hoping to be caught in this state?

{ no offence to yoimiya, but he's cautious with the offered food and will likely have someone taste test first. if it was handed to him in person the same caution wouldn't have been applied, but being suspiciously left at the door makes it a little difficult to trust based on a note.

still, he'll handwrite and leave a note for her in return, beautiful penmanship adorning the paper with the words: }

[ If Thoma were of any right sense of mind he would have lost his mind all over again at having been caught in such a compromising position by the other man. By anyone, really, but there's this higher degree of shame he can't quite explain in being caught by someone he regards as both his boss and someone he... has had an interest in. Slightly. Very. ]

[ He had absolutely been thinking about Ayato in his hazy state for part of this morning. ]

[ The other man's voice, a clear and cool sound that breaks through the fog in his mind, tickles at his senses in a way that makes him groan softly and grip his fist around himself with a quiver of his legs. He should let go of himself, this was absolutely indecent but the need in his body doesn't listen, hasn't listened since he'd snapped that bone at the start of the day and remains encompassed in greed and heat in a way Thoma's never experienced before. ]

[ The touch of another person is more than welcome, but the comfort it brings is like a drop of water in a desert. It's not enough, it leaves him needing more. His face turning to try and press into that cool hand, panting openly against it as his eyes dip up again to meet Ayato's as he wavers shakily between duty and desire. ]

[ He's trying so hard, he's practically begging. ]

{ the glove covering his hand is cold, from being outside earlier and not holding the soup directly. he feels like his skin is heating up too quickly underneath though, especially when thoma leans in and pants against it. his eyes lower, lidding as his fingers move to gently brush back hair from thoma's face, trying to give himself a moment so he doesn't let slip what that begging actually does to him.

Ah, { no matter how much he may have tried to not fantasise in the past, there's no way he'll be able to avoid it going forward. thoma has, unexpectedly, managed to give him plenty of material to think about just from these few minutes alone. } it would be rather cruel of me to refuse when you beg like that, wouldn't it?

{ his voice sounds hoarse to his own ears, and he has to force an exhale as he pulls his hand away to tug off the jacket he's wearing and drop it to the floor. it's lighter than his clothes from home, but even that feels too hot right now. each of his gloves gets yanked off after, thrown somewhere behind him, and then he'll finally cross the threshold to let his knee sink onto the bed. his arm lowers, hand curling under the side of thoma's head, holding gently in a way that lets him stroke his thumb over his cheek. each movement is deliberately slow, muddled with the worry that he'll spook either of them if he goes too quickly with this. it gives him the chance to lean on his arm, using that to keep his balance so he can lean to whisper in his ear on the other side. }

Tell me, what is it you want? This? { he'll be a little merciful by giving him some touch without prompting, since thoma was already struggling with words. his mouth opens, tongue sliding up along his ear, wetting the skin enough that when he blows softly on it after it should tingle. the effects of touch in this world already do enough for it, even he can feel how his tongue feels more than the warmth of skin. } Or this?

{ he knows it's neither, really, when his free hand doesn't go down as may have been hoped and instead climbs under the fabric covering thoma's chest. }
